GNOME HOUSES & FAIRY GARDENS

July 9th (Tuesday) thru July 13th (Saturday) 10:00AM-2:00PM

$375 per child (includes all material costs)

In this camp, we will explore our imaginations as we construct gnome houses and create beautiful & lush fairy gardens! At The Art Barn, we are pleased to be able to offer an atmosphere where kids can frolic and play to inspire and ignite their creativity & imaginations! We will go on nature walks to collect sticks, bark, pine needles, pine cones, rocks and hay to use for the gnome houses and each child will be an architect and builder as they design & construct mini houses. We will read several stories about the magical world of gnomes & fairies to get inspiration for our project. In addition, we will explore the Art Barn grounds as we search for signs of fairies (they have been known to leave behind footprints in the meadow…) and then, we will choose a variety of greenery, flowers, moss, vines, rocks, jewels & gems to create incredible fairy gardens that are sure to attract the most magical of fairies! We will also find inspiration for our fairy gardens from the 18th century novelist and literary critic, Andrew Lang, who wrote a series of twelve colored fairy books of fairy stories for children. This camp will offer each child an opportunity to explore their imaginations and display their artistic talent through mediums from nature.
